Throttle Position Switch Test
NOTE:
When testing resistance or voltage values, a high impedance (digital) volt-ohm meter must be used.
- With the ignition switch in the "ON" position, engine coolant temperature below 77°F (25°C) and engine off, test resistance between terminals 13 and 6 of diagnostic connector D2. Reading should be infinite. Check between terminals 4 and 13 of connector D2 with throttle closed. Resistance should be zero.
- With meter between terminals 4 and 6 of D2 and throttle at wide open position, resistance should be zero. If any of the readings are incorrect, check wiring circuit and repair as needed. If circuit is good, replace TPS.
