Coolant Temperature Sensor

  1. Disconnect wiring harness from sensor. Test resistance of sensor. If resistance is not 300-300,000 ohms (10,000 ohms at room temperature), replace sensor.
  2. Disconnect wiring harness from sensor and ECU. Test resistance of harness between pin 14 of ECU connector J2 and the sensor connector. Test resistance between pin 11 of connector J2 and sensor connector. See Figure for connector identification. Repair harness if an open circuit is found.
