Fuel Injection System (AMC) - TBI: Description

The AMC throttle body fuel injection system (TBI) uses an electronically controlled fuel injector to inject a metered spray of fuel above the throttle blade in the throttle body.

The TBI system is comprised of 2 sub-systems: the Fuel System and the Control System. Major components of the fuel system include an in-tank electric fuel pump, fuel filter, pressure regulator and a fuel injector.

Major components of the control system include the manifold air/fuel mixture temperature sensor, coolant temperature sensor, manifold absolute pressure sensor, wide open throttle switch, closed throttle switch, oxygen sensor, electronic control unit, throttle position sensor and an idle speed control motor.
