Steering Columns: Description
WARNING:

CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES

CAUTION:
Before disconnecting battery, obtain radio anti-theft code. If wrong code is entered into radio after power is restored, radio will become inoperable.
CAUTION:
On vehicles equipped with Audi Telematics by OnStar, switch-off the emergency (back-up) battery for the Telematic/Telephone Control Module prior to disconnecting vehicle battery. Emergency battery is turned on and off using VAG 1551 scan tool or VAS 5051 tester in diagnostic function CHANNEL 8 ADAPTATION 2.
Steering column can be either manually adjustable or electrically adjustable. Steering column is only available as a complete unit for a replacement part. Servicing is not possible. Steering lock housing can be replaced. Electrical adjustable steering column is available as optional equipment. The control module for steering column-belt height adjustment has no self-diagnosis capability. In case of a problem, troubleshooting must be done according to the wiring diagrams.
