Engine Cold
- Set engine at correct warm idle speed. Engine should be at operating temperature. Measure and note distance between knurled head screw and bracket.
- Loosen rear thermostat housing (water connections) evenly until thermostat spring tension is released. Be careful that pin in thermostat housing does not fall out. If pin does fall out, it is necessary to completely remove bolts. See Fig 1.
