Idle Speed Boost

The temperature controlled idle speed boost increases the engine speed during the warm-up phase to guarantee smooth engine running. A certain amount of fuel and any air is returned to the fuel tank by way of a hollow bolt, which is designed as an orifice jet, marked with the word "OUT". Under no circumstances should this bolt be mixed up with the hollow bolt on fuel feed line. This orifice bolt is for the fuel injection pump.

The engine can be stopped from the engine compartment with a lever located on the outside of the fuel injection pump in case the electric fuel shut-off valve should fail.

The engine is equipped with an atmospheric and charge pressure devices that are dependent on the full load fuel supply boost. These units control the full load fuel supply rate according to atmospheric pressure.
