Pressure Valve

The pressure valve has the duty of separating the pressure line from the big pressure circuit and discharging the pressure line. The pressure valve is lifted off of its seat during the delivery phase by pressure produced in the high pressure circuit. Fuel is delivered to the fuel injector by a pressure valve holder and pressure line through axial grooves forming an annular groove at their outlets.

As soon as the control bore of the distributor piston is opened, the pressure in the high pressure circuit equalizes to that in the pump's inside chamber. This causes the valve spring to return the pressure valve to its seat. In this manner the injector line and high pressure circuit are separated until the next delivery stroke.
