MOTRONIC Control Unit (MCU)

The MCU receives electronic input signals from several engine sensors. Information supplied by these sensors is used to determine optimum ignition and fuel injection timing, under various operating conditions. An air/fuel ratio of 14.7:1 is maintained under most driving conditions. MCU also controls fuel vapor purge from carbon canister.

NOTE: For ease of understanding, components are grouped into two categories. INPUT DEVICES are components which control or produce voltage signals that are monitored by MCU. OUTPUT SIGNALS are components that are MCU controlled.
