SUBJECT

Incorrect Accelerator Pedal Module 

SITUATION

During vehicle production, certain X5 and X6 models may have been produced with an accelerator pedal module that does not have the stainless steel trim.

PROCEDURE

For vehicles equipped with option 767, inspect the accelerator pedal module. If the vehicle is equipped with a stainless steel accelerator pedal module, no further action is required. If the accelerator pedal module does not have the stainless steel trim, replace the accelerator pedal module. Refer to Repair Instruction 35 40 001, "Removing and installing or replacing the accelerator module."

35 40 001 Refer to KSD2 Removing and installing or replacing accelerator module

Labor operation code 35 40 001 is a Main labor operation. If you are using a Main labor code for another repair, use the Plus code labor operation 35 40 501 instead.

Refer to KSD2 for the corresponding flat rate unit (FRU) allowance. Enter the Chassis Number, which consists of the last 7 digits of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Click on the "Search" button, and then enter the applicable flat rate labor operation in the FR code field.
