Coolant Temperature Indicator Accuracy Test

  1. If coolant HOT indicator comes on with engine running, but not overheated, check instrument panel cluster for short to ground on internal cluster circuits. If circuits are okay, repair cluster.
  2. If coolant HOT temperature indicator does not come on while starting engine, and bulb is okay, ground Dark Green wire at ignition switch connector C1, terminal "C". If indicator comes on, circuit is okay. Replace ignition switch. If indicator does not come on, check instrument panel printed circuit for an open circuit. If printed circuit is okay, repair instrument cluster.
