Rear Window Inoperative

  1. If power window system check was performed, go to next step. If power window diagnostic system check was not performed, go to see SYSTEM CHECK .
  2. With ignition off. Install scan tool. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Attempt to display driver door module information with scan tool. If scan tool displays DDM part number, record part number, go to next step. If scan tool display does not show DDM part number, go to step 7).
  3. Select DDM inputs display on scan tool. Display right front window switch. Press affected rear window switch in both directions. If scan tool display shows both UP and DOWN selections, go to next step. If scan tool display does not show both UP and DOWN selections, go to step 5).
  4. Select DDM outputs display on scan tool. Display driver window output. Press affected rear window switch in both directions. If scan tool display shows both UP and DOWN commands, go to step 6). If scan tool display does not show both UP and DOWN commands, go to step 7).
  5. Repair switch or open in Gray/Black, Dark Green or Black wire(s) between rear door power window switch and rear door module. Recheck system operation.
  6. Repair motor or open in Dark Blue or Brown wire between rear window motor and rear door module. Recheck system operation.
  7. Replace rear door module. Recheck system operation.
