Trouble Shooting: Notes

  1. Using scan tool, attempt to establish communication with door control modules. If communication is not successful, repair serial data link fault first. See DATA LINK CONNECTORS article in WIRING DIAGRAMS. If communication with modules is successful, retrieve all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Perform necessary repairs if DTCs exist. See DTC DEFINITIONS  table.
  2. If all windows are inoperative from master switch, check Retained Accessory Power (RAP) circuit breaker in underhood MaxiFuse(R) block. If circuit breaker is tripped, check for short to ground in Red (power) wire between RAP circuit breaker and door control modules.
  3. Also, check DDM fuse (10-amp) in rear power distribution center. If fuse is blown, check for short to ground in Orange wire between DDM fuse and Driver Door Module (DDM).
  4. If windows move slowly, ensure battery is fully charged, terminal contact and ground connections are okay. Ground points are located behind left and right kick panels. Check window regulator lubrication and window adjustment. Ensure aftermarket equipment is properly installed.
