Remote Keyless Entry System: Operation
The transmitter operates on the UHF band. The transmitter digitally sends the coded signals to the Remote Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) when any of the remote transmitter buttons are pressed. The RCDLR detects and decodes the transmitter signals. For all functions the RCDLR sends command massages to the Body Control Module (BCM) in order to operate the following components, the door lock actuator, the courtesy lights, the rear compartment release lid. The door lock and lighting systems can be programmed with up to 4 entry transmitters. The transmitter operates in the following modes.
Unlock Drivers Door Only - Momentarily press the unlock button to unlock the driver's door only and illuminate the interior lights for approximately 40 seconds of until the ignition is turned on. See Fig 1.
Unlock All Doors - Momentarily press the unlock button a second time (within 5 seconds of the first press) to unlock the remaining doors. The interior lights will illuminate for approximately 40 seconds or until the ignition is turned on. See Fig 1.
Lock All Doors - Press the lock button to lock all she doors. The interior lights will turn off immediately. See Fig 1.
Rear Compartment Lid Release - If the vehicle transaxle is in park, a single press of the lower right transmitter rear compartment button will course the rear compartment lid to open. Illumination of interior lamps will not be activated. See Fig 1.
Alarm - A single press of the lower left transmitter alarm button will course the interior lamps to illuminate, the horn to sound intermittently and the headlights to flash for 10 seconds or until the alarm button is pressed again or the ignition key is turned to the run position. See Fig 1.
