Installation Procedure
- Install the accelerator controls bracket to the throttle body if necessary.
Tighten: Tighten the accelerator controls bracket bolts to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
- Install the new gasket, new inserts and studs if necessary.
- Install the throttle body assembly.
- Install the throttle body retaining nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the throttle body support bracket.
Tighten: Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the vacuum hoses to throttle body as noted on removal.
- Install the electrical harness retainer clip (1) to the accelerator control cable bracket (3) if previously removed.
- Install the accelerator control cable (2) to the accelerator control bracket and throttle body lever (3). Refer to Accelerator Controls Cable Replacement .
- Install the cruise control cable (2) to the accelerator control bracket (4) and throttle body lever (3). Refer to Cruise Control Cable Replacement in Cruise Control.
- Connect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector to the MAF sensor.
- Connect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector to the TP sensor.
- Connect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector to the IAC valve.
- Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Intake Duct Replacement .
- Refill the radiator coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.
- Install the fuel injection sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L36) in Engine Mechanical.

IMPORTANT:
The throttle should operate freely without binding between full closed and wide open throttle (WOT).
