Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
    IMPORTANT: A special anti-seize compound is used on the oxygen sensor threads. New service sensors should already have the compound applied to the threads. Coat the threads of a reused sensor with anti-seize compound P/N 5613695 or equivalent.
  1. Install the oxygen sensor (4) into the exhaust pipe.

    Tighten:  Tighten the oxygen sensor to 41 N.m (30 lb ft).

  2. Connect the HO2S (4) connector to the HO2S electrical connector (2).
  3. Reinstall the retaining tab (1) into the HO2S electrical connector.
  4. Install the front splash shield (3).
  5. Lower the vehicle.
