Stop Engine Temperature Indicator

  1. The "STOP ENGINE TEMPERATURE" light should come on with key in ignition and door open. A buzzer will sound and light will come on when engine temperature exceeds 320°F (160°C). The buzzer will stay on until temperature drops below 240°F (116°C), even with ignition off.
  2. If light does not come on, disconnect Light Green wire at sending unit (located on rear of left cylinder head). If light comes on and buzzer sounds, replace sending unit. If light does not illuminate and buzzer does not sound, check fuse, bulb and printed circuit connector. Voltage should be present at printed circuit connector.
  3. If voltage is present at connector, Light Green wire is open between sending unit and light. If there is no voltage, Pink wire is open between fuse and printed circuit. If light does not go out, disconnect Light Green wire at sending unit. If light goes out, replace sending unit. If light stays on, Light Green wire is shorted to ground between printed circuit and sending unit.
