Self-Diagnostic System: Notes

NOTE: Before beginning self-diagnostics, go to TROUBLE SHOOTING and read BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .

The EBTCM performs system self-diagnostics, and can detect and often isolate system failures. When a failure is detected, the EBTCM sets a diagnostic trouble code that may turn on or have the BCM turn on the BRAKE warning light, and may disable the ABS/TCS functions as necessary for the duration of the ignition cycle.
