Remote Keyless Entry Systems: Operation

Transmitter must be within 30 feet of vehicle for receiver to detect coded signal. When LOCK button is depressed once on transmitter and keyless entry receiver or Body Control Module (BCM) receives a signal with a valid vehicle access code, lock function sequence is performed. All doors and fuel filler door lock. When UNLOCK button on transmitter is pressed once, signal is received by keyless entry receiver or BCM. Keyless entry receiver or BCM unlocks driver's door only. If sun sensor indicates sufficient darkness, keyless entry receiver or BCM will activate interior entry lights. When UNLOCK button is pressed a second time (within 1-5 seconds of the first) remaining doors will unlock.

When fuel filler door release is depressed, fuel filler door will unlock. Depress trunk button to unlock trunk. This function is disabled if ignition switch is in RUN position.
