Vehicle Communication Unit

  1. Record 11-digit (no letters) Electronic Serial Number (ESN) number from label on replacement Vehicle Communication Unit (VCU).
  2. Install replacement VCU.
  3. After replacement, press and hold OnStar(R) END CALL button (Black with White dot). Watch for OnStar(R) status light to change from Green to Red to Green.
  4. Press Blue OnStar(R) button to connect to OnStar(R). Tell advisor that this vehicle has a NEW VCU and a NEW ESN to put into customer's account. Follow any additional instructions given by advisor.
  5. Old VCU must be returned for core credit. Use address label included in original box. Failure to return core will result in a debit.
