Speed Control Systems - Automatic: Description: Notes
This system uses manifold vacuum to power a throttle servo unit. When speed adjustment is necessary, servo moves the throttle by receiving varying amounts of controlled vacuum from a transducer assembly. The speedometer cable from the transmission drives the transducer, and a cable from the transducer drives the speedometer. The transducer is activated by a three-position switch located at end of the turn signal lever on steering column. In addition, some models have an "ON-OFF" switch on the instrument panel to control the entire system.
