Carburetor - STROMBERG 2-Bbl: Description
This type of carburetor is a downdraft fuel and air metering device having 2 stages of operation. Primary side has a relatively small bore, double venturis and a bridge nozzle. Primary fuel metering is accomplished with a duty solenoid.
Secondary side of carburetor has one large bore. A secondary main metering system supplies fuel to engine during heavy load conditions. Primary side of carburetor comprises 9 systems. They are float, idle, and off-idle, main metering, anti dieseling, accelerating pump, vent switch valve, idle-up mixture jet and automatic choke systems.
Secondary side of carburetor has one metering system which supplements primary main metering system and receives its fuel from a common float chamber. In emission control device which can automatically supply clean air to carburetor at a specified altitude, so fuel/air ratio will not become too rich.
