Pick-Up Coil

Turn ignition off. Remove distributor cap. Disconnect electrical connector from pick-up coil to module. Check resistance across positive and negative pick-up coil (connector terminals on 4A-GE models) terminals, using an ohmmeter. See Fig 1. Resistance (cold) should be 140-180 ohms. If resistance is not as specified on 4A-LC models, replace pick-up coil and breaker plate. If resistance is not as specified on 4A-GE models, replace distributor.
