Code 34 (MAP)

  1. Clear codes. Disconnect MAP sensor connector and jumper connector terminal Green to Light Green/Yellow. With ALDL jumper removed, start engine and run for one minute. If check engine light comes on, stop engine. Jumper ALDL and turn ignition on.
  2. If code 33 is present, replace MAT sensor. If code 34 is present, remove jumper wire from connector. With ignition on, check voltage between Red wire and Light Green/Yellow wire at connector.
  3. If reading is 4-6 volts, check for open in Green wire at connector to B11 at ECM harness connector. If harness tests good, repair harness connector or replace ECM.
  4. If reading in step 2) was below 4 volts, check for open or short in Light Green/Yellow wire at connector and B14 at ECM harness connector. If harness tests good, repair harness connector or replace ECM.
