Manual Bleeding
- Clean master cylinder reservoir cover and surrounding area. Ensure reservoir is full. Attach a clear hose to hydraulic modulator rearward bleeder valve. Submerge other end of hose in clean container. See Fig 1. Slowly open rearward bleeder. Apply brake pedal until fluid begins to flow. Close valve and release brake pedal. Repeat procedure for forward bleeder valve.
- When all air has been purged from hydraulic modulator bleeder valves, bleed all 4 wheel calipers to ensure all air is expelled from lowest part of brake system. Raise and support vehicle. Attach a clear hose to right rear caliper bleeder valve. Submerge other end of hose in container of brake fluid.
- Open bleeder valve. Slowly depress brake pedal. Close bleeder valve and release brake pedal. Wait 5 seconds. Repeat process until no air bubbles are seen from hose. Repeat procedure on left rear, right front and left front bleeder valves. Ensure reservoir is full. Repeat procedure for bleeding hydraulic modulator and master cylinder assembly to bleed any remaining air from brake system.
