Removal & Installation: Notes

WARNING: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

NOTE: Use illustrations for exploded view of steering column assembly. See Figure, Figure or Figure. For removal and installation of all components not listed under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION, see OVERHAUL . Before servicing steering column, place shift lever in Park, turn lock cylinder to OFF-LOCK position, and remove key.
