System Operation Check

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. ECT gauge should indicate current engine coolant temperature. Fuel gauge should indicate approximate fuel level. Oil pressure indicator should light.
  2. Start engine. Oil pressure indicator should go out. Tachometer (if equipped) should indicate engine RPM.
  3. Run engine until normal operating temperature is attained. ECT gauge should indicate current engine coolant temperature.
  4. After performing appropriate testing procedure(s) and making repairs, repeat SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK to ensure system is operational.
