Left Window Inoperative, Right Window Operates Normally

  1. Disconnect left window motor connector. Connect test light between left front window motor harness connector terminals "A" (Dark Blue) and "B" (Brown wire). Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Move left front window switch to UP and DOWN positions. If test light does not illuminate in both positions, go to next step. If test light illuminates in both positions, go to step 15).
  2. Disconnect left front window switch. Using DVOM, check for continuity in Brown wire between left front window switch and left front window motor. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, go to step 4).
  3. Connect test light between ground and left front window switch harness connector terminal "A" (Brown wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 5). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 6).
  4. Repair poor connection or open in Brown wire between left front window switch and left front window motor. Recheck system operation.
  5. Repair short to power in Brown wire between left front window switch and left front window motor. Recheck system operation.
  6. Using test light connected to battery voltage, probe left front window switch connector terminal "A" (Brown wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 8).
  7. Repair short to ground in Brown wire between left front window switch and left front window motor.
  8. Using DVOM, check continuity of Dark Blue wire between left front window switch and left front window motor. If continuity exists, go to step 10). If continuity does not exist, go to next step.
  9. Repair poor connection or open in Dark Blue wire between left front window switch and left front window motor. Recheck system operation.
  10. Connect test light between ground and left front window switch harness connector terminal "E" (Dark Blue wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 12).
  11. Repair short to power in Dark Blue wire between left front window switch and left front window motor. Recheck system operation.
  12. Connect test light between battery voltage and left front window switch harness connector terminal "E" (Dark Blue wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 14).
  13. Repair short to ground in Dark Blue wire between left front window switch and left front window motor. Recheck system operation.
  14. Replace left front window switch. Recheck system operation.
  15. Replace left front window motor. Recheck system operation.
