Right Window Inoperative, Left Window Operates Normally

  1. Disconnect right front window switch connector. Using test light connected to battery voltage, backprobe right front window switch harness connector terminal "D" (Tan wire). Turn ignition to RUN position. If test light illuminates, go to step 4). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Check for poor connection or open in Tan wire between right front window switch and left front window switch. If poor connection or open exists, repair as necessary and recheck system operation. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  3. Replace left front window switch. Recheck system operation.
  4. Leave test light connected as specified in step 1). Press and hold left front window switch in DOWN position. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to next step 7).
  5. Disconnect left front window switch connector. Check for short to ground in Tan wire. If short to ground exists, go to next step. If short to ground does not exist, go to step 3).
  6. Repair short to ground in Tan wire between right front window switch and left front window switch. Recheck system operation.
  7. Connect test light between battery voltage and right front window switch harness connector terminal "H" (Light Blue). If test light illuminates, go to step 9). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  8. Check for poor connection or open in Light Blue wire between right front window switch and left front window switch. Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to step 3).
  9. Leave test light connected as specified in step 7). Using left front window switch, press and hold inoperative window switch to UP position. If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 12).
  10. Disconnect left front window switch harness connector. Check Light Blue wire for short to ground. If short to ground exists, go to next step. If short to ground does not exist, go to step 3).
  11. Repair short to ground in Light Blue wire between right front window switch and left front window switch. Recheck system operation.
  12. Connect test light between ground and right front window switch harness connector terminal "F" (Brown wire). Turn ignition to RUN position. If test light illuminates, go to step 14). If test light does not illuminate, go to next step.
  13. Repair poor connection or open in Brown wire between right front window switch and splice S307. Recheck system operation.
  14. Reconnect right front window switch connector. Disconnect right front window motor connector. Connect test light between right front window motor connector terminals "A" (Dark Blue wire) and "B" (Brown wire). Turn ignition to RUN position. Press right front window switch to UP, then DOWN position. If test light illuminates in both positions, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate in both positions, go to step 16).
  15. Replace right front window motor. Recheck system operation.
  16. Check for open or short to ground in Brown wire between right front window switch and right front window motor. If open or short is found, repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, go to next step.
  17. Check for open or short in Dark Blue wire between right front window switch and right front window motor. If open or short to ground is found, repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, replace right front window switch. Recheck system operation.
