Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter Programming
CAUTION:
All Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitters which are to be recognized by the Remote Control Door Lock Transmitter (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If system is placed in program mode it will erase all previously programmed RKE transmitters upon receipt of the programming signal from first RKE transmitter. Up to 4 RKE transmitters can be programmed. Do not operate or program remote keyless entry transmitters in vicinity of other vehicles that are in remote keyless entry program mode. This prevents programming of RKE transmitters to incorrect vehicle.
NOTE:
Program only one Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) at a time. If multiple receivers are being programmed at the same time, it is possible to program the same RKE transmitter to more than one RCDLR.
- When Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) enters programming mode, programming of first RKE transmitter erases all previous RKE transmitter programming information. This requires programming of all RKE transmitters.
- Remove ignition key from ignition switch. Remove BCM PRGRM fuse located in instrument panel fuse block. Close all doors and liftgate. Turn ignition switch to ACC position. Turn ignition switch to OFF position, then back to ACC position within one second.NOTE: During next step, after 7 seconds a chime may be heard confirming synchronization is successful. It is necessary to wait 14 seconds for second chime that will confirm successful programming.
- Open, then close any vehicle door. A chime will be heard when system enters BCM programming/diagnostic mode. Press and hold RKE transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds.
- Repeat step 3 for each RKE transmitter. Up to 4 RKE transmitters can be programmed. When all RKE transmitters are programmed, remove ignition key. Install BCM PRGRM fuse in instrument panel fuse block. Programming is complete. Verify functions of each RKE transmitter to verify proper system operation.
