Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement: Installation

  1. Install the EBCM.

  3. Install the EBCM attaching bolts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the EBCM attaching bolts to 4-6N.m (35-53 lb. in.) 

  4. Connect the electronic brake control module (EBCM) electrical connector (2).

  6. Install the air cleaner and snorkel assembly.
  7. Connect the air cleaner tube (1).

  9. Install the air cleaner snorkel mounting bolts (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the air cleaner snorkel mounting bolts to 10N.m (89 lb. in.) 

  10. Install the air cleaner housing mounting bolts (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the air cleaner housing mounting bolts to 10N.m (89 lb. in.) 

  11. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
  12. IMPORTANT: The ABS/TCS indicators should illuminate for four seconds immediately after the ignition has been turn On to show that the ABS self-test is being carried out. If the light does not go Off after this time, it means there may be a problem and the ABS/TCS may not operate.
  13. Turn the ignition ON and verify operation of ABS lamp.
  14. Using a scan tool, check for DTCs. Erase all history DTCs.
