Removal Procedure

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering Systems.
  3. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the attaching bolt.
  5. Remove the CMP sensor.
  6. Inspect the CMP sensor O-ring for wear, cracks, or leakage if the sensor is not being replaced.
