CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice . CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution . NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . Fastener Tightening Specifications: Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications . Preliminary Procedure Remove the engine control module (ECM). Refer to the following procedures: Engine Control Module (ECM) Replacement for the 2.2L engine Engine Control Module (ECM) Replacement for the 2.4L engine Remove the transmission control module and relocate to the side.
1	Connector, Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Electrical
2	Fittings, Brake Pipe (Qty: 5) Tip: Cap or plug the brake pipe fittings so as not to let the brake system to become contaminated and to stop the brake fluid from leaking. Tighten: 19 N.m (14 lb ft)
3	Bolt, EBCM Mounting Bracket Tighten: 20 N.m (15 lb ft)
4	Module, Anti-Lock Brake Control
5	Bolts, EBCM Mounting Tighten: 2.3 N.m (20 lb in)
6	Module, EBCM
7	Seal, EBCM O-Ring (Qty: 8) Tip: DO NOT reuse the O-rings. Replace with new. Use denatured alcohol to clean the mating surfaces between the EBCM and BPMV. Apply a small amount of clean GM or equivalent Dot 3 brake fluid to the O-rings. Reprogram the EBCM. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Programming and Setup . Bleed the brake system. Refer to ABS Automated Bleed Procedure .
