Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Caution in Cautions and Notices.
    NOTE: Refer to Fuel Pressure Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure .
  2. CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. Drain the fuel tank.
  5. Disconnect the parking brake cable retainer clamps and the support along the fuel tank to provide clearance for the tank.

  7. Remove the fuel tank filler tube clamp at the fuel tank.
  8. Disconnect the fuel tank filler tube.
  9. Disconnect the fuel tank filler tube at the fuel tank.
  10. Disconnect the canister vapor tube at the control valve vapor tube.

  12. Disconnect the fuel pump harness connector at the right rear corner of the fuel tank.
  13. Disconnect the fuel inlet line near the right front of the fuel tank.
  14. Disconnect the wiring harness clips and the fuel line clips as needed.

  16. Support the fuel tank.
  17. Remove the fuel tank retaining bolts.
  18. Carefully lower the fuel tank.
  19. Remove the fuel tank.
  20. Transfer any parts as needed.
