Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) .
- Remove the air filter assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
- Remove the induction tube from the throttle body. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
- Remove the mass air flow (MAF) sensor with intake air temperature (IAT) sensor. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor with Intake Air Temperature Sensor Replacement .
- Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory .
- Remove the power steering pump to power steering hose banjo bolt (1).
- Remove the power steering pump to power steering pump bracket retaining bolts (2).
- Discard the bolts.
- Position the power steering pump to away from the generator.
- Remove the generator battery positive cable nut (1) from the generator stud.
- Remove the generator battery positive cable (2) from the generator stud.
- Disconnect the A/C clamp inlet pipe at the left frame rail and reposition the A/C hose/pipe bracket.
- Remove the electrical connector (3) from the generator.
- Remove the generator retaining bolts (1, 2).
- Remove the generator (3) from the vehicle.
WARNING:
Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning .
NOTE:
Bolts with micro-encapsulated thread sealant must be discarded after removal.
NOTE:
Press the retainer tabs to remove electrical connector (3).
