Installation Procedure

  1. Install the boot (2) to the inner tie rod (3).
  2. Install the NEW inner boot clamp (1).
  3. Crimp the inner boot clamp with the J-22610  Pliers or equivalent.
  4. Install the NEW outer boot retaining clamp (4).
    5. NOTE:

    Install the inner tie rod nut (5) with the same number of turns as recorded during removal.

  5. Install the inner tie rod nut (5) to the inner tie rod.
  6. Install the outer tie rod. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement .
