Ignition System: Description: Sensors: Notes

The electronic spark control computer, mounted on the air cleaner, uses 7 engine sensors to determine when to fire the spark plugs. See Fig 1. These include the distributor pick-up coils, vacuum transducer, coolant temperature sensor, carburetor switch, detonation sensor, oxygen sensor and charge temperature switch. Their functions are as follows:
