Negative Rectifier

  1. Connect one ohmmeter lead to negative heat sink. Connect other ohmmeter lead to each of negative rectifier pins and test for continuity. See Figure. Reverse ohmmeter leads and retest.
  2. There should be continuity in only one direction. If there is continuity in both directions, rectifier is shorted. If there is no continuity is either direction, rectifier is open. If rectifier is either shorted or open, replace rectifier assembly.
