Service Procedures

The air aspirator system is not repairable. Replace valve as necessary. Valve failure results in excessive exhaust system noise underhood at idle and hardening of the rubber hose from the valve to the resonator.

If there is excessive underhood noise, check the air aspirator tube and exhaust manifold joint and hose connections at the air aspirator valve and air cleaner for leakage. If loose, tighten fitting to 50 ft. lbs. (68 N.m).
