Circuit Breaker Test

  1. Locate 20-amp circuit breaker in fuse box. Move circuit breaker for access to terminals, while maintaining proper electrical connection. Connect negative voltmeter lead to ground. With positive lead, check each terminal of circuit breaker for voltage.
  2. If both terminals show voltage, circuit breaker is okay. If only one terminal shows battery voltage, circuit breaker is defective. Replace circuit breaker. If neither terminal shows battery voltage, check for open or shorted circuit to fuse box.
