Motor Tests

These tests will by-pass switch to determine if switch or specified motor is at fault. Remove power seat position switch and disconnect it from wiring harness. See SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. In harness connector, check pin No. 5 (Red wire) for battery voltage and pin No. 1 (Black wire) for ground. Using 2 jumper wires, connect one wire to battery supply. Connect second jumper wire to chassis ground. Connect other end of wires to pins as described in MOTOR TESTS AT SEAT CONNECTOR table to check seat action. See Fig 1 . If motor still does not work, check wiring between switch connector and motor. If wiring is okay, replace motor.
