System Testing

  1. Check fan motor operation. See MOTOR  procedure under COMPONENT TESTING. Check for loose connections at fan motor and fan motor relay. If all connections are okay, check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). If no DTCs are present, go to next step.
    NOTE: DTCs are obtained by attaching Diagnostic Readout Box (DRB) to diagnostic connector located near battery. For additional information, see G - TESTS W/ CODES in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  2. With ignition on and engine at normal operating temperature, check for battery voltage on both sides of cooling fan relay fuse. Cooling fan relay fuse and high and low speed fan relays are located in fuse/relay box in front of left strut tower. See RELAY  under COMPONENT TESTING.
