Component Testing: Motor

  1. Locate and disconnect electric fan motor connector at motor. Connect jumper wire from positive terminal of battery to positive terminal of fan connector.
  2. Connect another jumper wire from negative battery terminal to negative terminal of fan connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Replace fan motor if fan motor does not run. If fan motor runs, check fan relay, coolant temperature sensor and Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
    CAUTION: Check electric fan motor operation before checking fan relay and PCM. Ensure PCM is securely grounded.
