Steering Column: Description

Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation involving steering column components. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . DO NOT
apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first disconnecting air bag module. Air bag may deploy.
Steering column is a collapsible design which uses a 2-piece intermediate shaft between steering column and steering rack. Steering column assembly contains a combination switch, ignition switch and steering lock assembly. See Figure. Tilt column is standard.
