Throttle Body Synchronization
NOTE:
Throttle bodies must be synchronized anytime either throttle body is remove and then reinstalled, or when a gap exists between adjusting screw and lever located on right (passenger's side) throttle body. See Fig 1
.
- Install a .004" (.10 mm) feeler gauge between idle speed screw and throttle lever on right (passenger's side) throttle body. See Fig 1 .
- Loosen lock nut on adjusting screw, located on synchronization shaft. See Fig 1 . Rotate adjusting screw until adjusting screw just contacts lever on synchronization shaft. Tighten lock nut to 36 INCH lbs. (4 N.m) while holding adjusting screw from rotating.
- Using .004" (.10 mm) feeler gauge, check clearance between idle speed screw and throttle lever on right (passenger's side) throttle body. A .004" (.10 mm) feeler gauge should have resistance when removed. Ensure a .006" (.15 mm) feeler gauge will not fit between idle speed screw and throttle lever on right (passenger's side) throttle body.
