Keyless Entry System - Remote: Description

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system allows for locking and unlocking of the vehicle doors by remote control, using a hand-held radio transmitter. The receiver (module) may receive signals from up to 4 transmitters. Each transmitter has its own ID and a rolling code which is stored in BCM memory. The ID of each transmitter never changes. The rolling code changes each time a button is pressed. If the transmitter is replaced, or another added, the code from all units has to be programmed into memory. No more than 4 transmitters can be used. If the transmitter button is pressed more than 250 times out of vehicle range, rolling code will go out of synchronization and must be programmed with scan tool. The receiver is capable of retaining memory even when power is removed. The transmitter will operate within approximately 30 feet of the receiver. The transmitter has 2 replaceable 3-volt batteries (CR2016).
