Repair and Diagnosis: Transmission: Clutches: Description
Clutch uses a single-plate, dry-disc with a self-adjusting cable release mechanism. Clutch disc and pressure plate are serviced as an assembly. A preload spring maintains tension on the cable, keeping the clutch release bearing continuously applied to the clutch cover assembly fingers.
A clutch pedal position switch is used to prevent engine cranking with the clutch engaged. Clutch pedal position switch is wired in series between starter relay and ignition switch.
