PRND3L Light Malfunctioning

NOTE: Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-2A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. While monitoring PRND3L indicator light, cycle ignition switch from OFF to RUN. If all indicator lights illuminate, go to next step. If all indicator lights do not illuminate, replace and recalibrate instrument cluster circuit board.
  2. Engage parking brake. Using scan tool, select Transmission Control Module (TCM). Select MONITORS in status displays. Monitor SLP status of shift lever position. While monitoring scan tool, move shift lever through all positions. If scan tool display matches shift lever position, replace instrument cluster. If scan tool display does not match shift lever position, see appropriate article in TRANSMISSIONS.
