Body Verification Test
- Reconnect all previously disconnected components and connectors. Using scan tool, record and erase DTCs from all modules. Cycle ignition on and off.
- If Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) was replaced, go to step 11 . If SKIM or PCM were not replaced, go to next step.
- If BCM was replaced, turn ignition on for 15 seconds. This allows BCM to learn Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Engine may not start if equipped with Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS). If vehicle is equipped with VTSS, use scan tool to enable VTSS.
- Program additional options as necessary.
- If any actuators were replaced on vehicle equipped with manual HVAC system, use scan tool and select HVAC then SYSTEM TESTS, then select HVAC DOOR RECALIBRATION.
- If any actuators were replaced on vehicle equipped with automatic HVAC system, use scan tool and select AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL then MISCELLANEOUS, then select RESET ATC HEAD.
- On vehicles equipped with 3-zone HVAC systems, if HVAC control/rear blower rear control was replaced, DTC REAR BLEND POT CIRCUIT OPEN/SHORT was set or any rear blend pot circuit was repaired, go to next step. If no items were repaired, go to step 10 .
- Use scan tool and select HVAC then SYSTEM TESTS, then select HVAC DOOR RECALIBRATION. Door calibration must pass before proceeding to next step.
- Use scan tool and select HVAC then SYSTEM TESTS, then select RESET REAR BLEND SWITCH SPAN. Rotate rear blend/mode control on rear blower rear control to full cold position. Wait 5 minutes and rotate to full hot position.
- If any repairs were made to power sliding door or power liftgate systems, use scan tool and perform open and close system tests. Follow on screen instructions and go to step 14 .
- Obtain vehicles unique Personal Identification Number (PIN) assigned to original SKIM from customer or contact manufacturer.NOTE: SKIM will enter secured access mode and will only remain in secured access mode for 60 seconds.NOTE: If incorrect PIN is entered 3 times, secured access mode will be locked out and additional attempts to enter PIN will not be accepted. Scan tool will display BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN. To clear lock out, ensure all accessories are turned off. Turn ignition and leave on for one hour. Connect battery charger if necessary.
- Using scan tool, select THEFT ALARM, SKIM, MISCELLANEOUS and then SKIM REPLACED. Enter 4-digit PIN when requested. Perform first part of next step quickly.
- Scan tool will request country code and VIN to be entered and transfer of secret key data.
- All ignition keys will need to be programmed to SKIM memory. SKIM will need to be in secured access mode using 4-digit PIN.
- If PCM is replaced, VIN and secret key data must be transferred from SKIM to new PCM. SKIM will need to be in secured access mode using 4-digit PIN.
- Start engine and run for 2 minutes. Operate all systems effected. Verify that condition for setting DTC does not exist. Turn ignition off and wait approximately 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Recheck for DTCs in all modules. If DTCs set, perform appropriate test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTCs do not set, repair is complete.
