Integrated Power Module: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative and positive battery cables.
  2. Remove the battery thermal guard from the vehicle. Refer to the BATTERY SYSTEM .
  3. Remove the battery from the vehicle. Refer to the BATTERY SYSTEM .
  4. Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, twist the Integrated Power Module (IPM) bracket retaining latch outward to free the intelligent power module from its mounting bracket (Fig 1 ).

  5. Rotate the IPM counter-clockwise to access and disconnect the various electrical connectors (Fig 2 ).

  6. Free the IPM from its mounting bracket by removing the IPM bracket clips from the hinge. A screwdriver slipped up from under the hinge will free the clips.
