VTSS Verification Test

  1. Ensure all doors, hood and liftgate are closed. Open driver's door. Remove ignition key. Lower driver's door window. Lock doors with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system transmitter. Close driver's door. If Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) indicator light flashes rapidly for approximately 15 seconds, then flash slowly, system is operational. Go to next step. If VTSS indicator light does not flash, go to VTSS WILL NOT ARM  under VEHICLE THEFT SECURITY SYSTEM (VTSS) under SYSTEM TESTS.
  2. Attempt to duplicate conditions that set DTC. Recheck for DTCs. If DTCs set, perform appropriate repair procedure. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTCs do not set, repair is complete.
